(Chorus) Uncle Lawrence, where’d you go, down in the deep below? In your submarine you hide, won’t you come back to the tide? We're calling, shouting, pleading loud, But you're lost beneath the waves and proud.
(Verse 1) Under the sea, where silence hums, He’s dodging sharks and chewing gum. With periscopes high and engines low, He's charting paths we'll never know.
(Verse 2) A map of dreams pinned on his wall, Hidden treasures, he wants them all. Lawrence is captain, crew, and king, In his watery palace, he won’t hear us sing.
(Verse 3) “Come up for air!” we begged and cried, But he just laughs and takes a dive. He’s got sardines for lunch today, And underwater tunes to play.
(Verse 4) He’s growing seaweed in his hair, And dancing with dolphins who just stare. “Surface is boring!” he declares, “My submarine’s my new lair!”
(Verse 5) He’s charting courses no one’s found, Through glowing reefs and buried mounds. The deep sea’s secrets keep him near, He’s the only king of this frontier.
(Verse 6) From portholes round he watches whales, Their soothing songs fill his tales. He writes his journal with a grin, “The world above? I’ll never begin.”
(Verse 7) His Wi-Fi’s strong, he streams the news, Tweets from the abyss, with jellyfish views. "Humans worry too much," he claims, "I’ll stay down here and play my games."
(Verse 8) Every birthday, we send balloons, They float on the waves to submarine tunes. He fires flares to say he’s fine, But never crosses that surface line.
(Verse 9) He’s built a garden with coral beds, Painted murals in crimson reds. A submarine artist of the sea, Creating masterpieces, wild and free.
(Verse 10) Uncle Lawrence lives on shrimp cuisine, In his underwater limousine. He’s got barnacles on his old, worn shoes, And he hums to himself deep ocean blues.
(Verse 11) He’s got a pet octopus named Sue, Together they plot what submariners do. “She’s got eight arms, and I’ve got two, The surface world, we bid adieu!”
(Verse 12) He sends us postcards every June, “Life in the sea is a lovely tune. Say hello to the birds and sun, Down here, I’ve got my kind of fun.”
(Verse 13) We’ve built a raft, we’ve sent a plea, “Come back, we miss your company!” But Uncle Lawrence simply replies, “I’ve got squid here—who needs the skies?”
(Verse 14) He’s made a flag with stripes of teal, Claimed an island of coral and eel. Declared himself the “Ocean’s Ruler,” With every plunge, it gets much cooler.
(Verse 15) One day, perhaps, he’ll miss the shore, The laughter and love he had before. But for now, the sea’s his heart’s desire, With currents strong and dreams that inspire.
(Chorus) Uncle Lawrence, where’d you go, down in the deep below? In your submarine you hide, won’t you come back to the tide? We're calling, shouting, pleading loud, But you're lost beneath the waves and proud.
